We would like to clarify some of the terms and definitions used on this site.

Polish, Compound & Wax

There is a distinct difference between a Polish, a Compound and a Wax, this difference is very important in the results obtained from these products. A Polish or Compound contains Chalk, used as an abrasive suspended in a liquid, these products are used to remove the surface layer of dead paint and can be used to remove swirls from paintwork, carwash brush damage and minor surface scratches.  There are varying grades of the Compounds, Extra Abrasive to Ultra Fine to provide a fantastic finish when used with a rotary machine polisher. With the exception of Radiant Wax the other Compounds contain no waxes.

Radiant Wax, officially called 'Radiant Wax Polish' is a combined product that is able to cut, polish and leave a durable wax finish.  It may be layered with HD Wax and Liquid Hard Wax for extra durability.

Wax, contains no cutting properties, and is therefore only suitable to use on well finished paintwork, three products from the Autoglym range that we use are currently  'pure' (contain no abrasive properties) waxes, Liquid Hardwax, Aqua Wax and the new product High Definition Wax.

Some common FAQ's

Q. What is the difference between the service you offer and a hand car wash?

A. There is a huge difference in the quality of the service that we provide. For us valeting is a lot more than cleaning cars, which we feel is the service offered by hand car washes. A hand car wash is all about a high volume, low quality service i.e. lots of cars done quickly to a, comparatively, low standard, quick wash, quick vac, hence the price.

Q. Why does your service cost more?

A. We offer a service that is far superior in finish, and this takes time. We have looked at the services offered by hand car washes and have decided that it is impractical to compete with the "wash & vac" service. We feel we can offer a more superior "part valet" "full valet" service than can be done by some hand car washes. By spending more time on your vehicle we can provide a finish that although may be more costly is vastly better. This approach is the only way we feel we can compete with hand car washes.

Q. What services do you offer?

A. We offer a variety of Services to our clients. We can also do any combinations of work so you can customise your own valet.

Q. Do you use a steam cleaner?

A. No, steam cleaners operate at exceedingly high temperatures, and can cause problems with engine electrical and ignition systems, by causing condensation to form on the inside of the cold parts, on bodywork they can melt plastics.  We operate a cold water pressure washer and combined with the use of high quality Autoglym products, produce excellent results. Interiors are shampooed by hand and extracted with a vacuum, this method allows more control over the amount of moisture.

Q. Do you offer any paint protection systems?

A Yes, we offer the Autoglym LifeShine system which we think offers the best value for money with a 10 year protection warranty.  We can offer other systems on request.

Q. Can I bring the car to you?

A. No, sorry, we offer a totally mobile service, which we feel is a better option for our clients, as this means that you know where your vehicle is at all times, right outside your door.  We find that water and electricity is not usually a problem for most clients as our washer will draw water from a container.

Q. Can you valet in the rain?

A. Yes, but we can only offer a limited amount of work on rainy and cold days, washes are not a problem.  Interiors are more complicated as having the doors open usually results in water marks on the doors.  Polish does not work well in damp or wet conditions.

Q. Can you clean my convertibles hood?

A. Yes, fabric hoods are cleaned and re-proofed with protector.

Q. I have a scratch in my paint?

A Yes & No, minor scratches can be removed from paintwork, but any deep scratches that have broken though the top coat will need to be touched in. If you can feel it with your finger nail it's to deep. Though if you have a touch up we are willing to fill minor chips and scratches. Obviously we don't carry touch up as the range is to vast. Any touch in work would be discussed after a visual inspection.

Q. Do you offer any discounts?

A. Yes, we offer a variety of discounts to our clients, these vary depending on the number of vehicles and the service required, also on regular bookings. We can offer discounts to the elderly and disabled.  Any discounts will be discussed, and are subject to the state of the vehicles.

Q. I have a leather interior?

A. Yes, we can clean leather interiors, the leather is cleaned and the oils that naturally dry out are replenished this prevents the cracking that is common in the older leather interiors.

Q. Do you do gift vouchers?

A. Yes, we offer gift vouchers for any type of special occasion, let us know what the occasion is and we will print a voucher just for you to any value or service.

Q. How much notice do I need to give for making a booking?

A. The amount of notice that we need depends a lot on the time of year, during the summer months we require longer as we do book up quickly.

Q. What areas do you cover?

A. We cover Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Northampton and surrounding villages. Though if you would like us to come to Northampton for a £30 valet, we are unable to.

Q. I am not in your area but could you give me some advice please?

A. Of course.
